Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are boards made of an insulating material (mainly glass-epoxy laminates (TSEs) or composite materials), covered with a thin layer of copper foil onto which a pattern of tracks is printed, which form the electrical connections. They also have conductive elements made of nickel, palladium, silver, gold and tin on their surface. They are used as the structural basis in most electronic devices. It is on them that all components are assembled.
